  • You get the politicians you deserve. The electorate doesn't think past next week, so the politicians don't need to.

  • VIKINGS: The Odyssey.

It looks nothing like the Mediterranean.

  • I feel the same about Gwendoline playing Brienne. She's much too pretty, although she did great in the role.

  • A lot is based in Singapore. There was a story a few days ago about how China nixed the sale of a Singapore-based AI company to Meta.

  • All the nice bells and whistles that mint comes with: mostly cinnamon and the upgrade manager out-of-the-box. I've been using it for a few months, and I prefer it over stock debian and normal mint.

  • Same. I've probably got more than ten thousand hours across multiple versions. When I was sick I used to play it all day, every day. I found mining very Zen.

  • Profit is far too easy to manipulate. A percentage of gross revenue would really sting.

  • Mate, did you consider that you might have missed Satan's satire?

    🤣

  • I get 403 Forbidden messages seemingly randomly when I use the web interface. Sometimes it works great. No problems. Most times, not. No issues using summit.

  • Be careful what you wish for. Those of us living in developed countries may be considered part of the parasite class by those in developing or undeveloped countries. The line between parasite and host is completely arbitrary.

  • Yes, Singapore has national service. Male (note the inherent sexism) citizens and second gen PRs are required to perform 2 years of service in the armed forces, police, or civil defence (ambos, firies, etc). I have one kid in service and another about to.

  • Didn't Dutton have Border Force harassing people on the streets of Melbourne in 2014?

  • I was in the electoral roll for more than thirty years before I was chosen for jury duty. The trial lasted for a week. It was eye-opening. I'd even go so far as to say that I had fun.

My wife received her call-up soon after she became a citizen. She's done it twice.

  • A friend of a friend died from spilling a small amount of HF onto himself.

  • Stargate SG-1. My wife hasn't seen more than a handful of episodes from season 1 back when it first aired in the 90s. It still mostly holds up.

  • It's only exhausting if you have to remember the lies. The media will never challenged him on them, though.

  • In Singapore, it's mostly the elderly. I saw a guy a few days ago with two phones playing it as he descended an escalator. The especially keen ones use four or five phones at a time.

  • Jump where? The alternatives currently require a small selection of hardware; are expensive; don't offer the same level of service; or all the above.
