  • I don't see many going to opposite way. Would you like me to pull up what it looked like while Biden was running and we can compare? It is very heavily skewed left. Trump won the house, the senate and popular vote, even if I liked Trump, saying that he's unpopular is not centrist. He's not sitting far below where Biden was 15 or so months in and I did not see the same type of rhetoric for Biden during that time.

  • I put blue borders around them for you. Would you like the links too?

  • They are pushing hard left agendas. There's literally thousands of comments saying it, and it's very easy to see what content is allowed to remain on the platform vs what's been removed over the years with archives like Arctic Shift.

  • This is a pretty cool feature

  • I'm not even conservative. I'm pretty Liberal and even I think Reddit has gone way too far. I'm not the "I'm against anything conservative" type of Liberal I often see in online spaces either, I'm more of a "Yeah, they have some points we could probably agree with, and others I disagree with, but I understand their point of view" type of Liberal. Apparently that's too right-wing for Reddit though.

  • Australian/Canadian here.

I can assure you that kids in Australia are just using VPNs. You need global type of ID system to get around VPNs from a specific place. That didn't turn out well for Discord when they tried to implement global ID.

My solution is government signed Zero Knowledge Proofs for age. Be weary of anyone who says we need to take away your freedoms to protect the children, when there's easy ways of doing it without taking your freedoms.

  • I was banned on that sub for saying something similar, lol.

  • How many subreddits you banned from for this opinion?

  • I'm a bit of a privacy advocate/cypherpunk and I agree with you.

The problem is companies should never need know this information except what is absolutely necessary for business. Like if they ship you something, they need to know your name and address (and that could even go away with Japan's model where you just give a code and the post office only knows your address, but I digress).

Another thing is that age verification technologies already exist in such a way that the government doesn't know what you're accessing, and the company only knows you're above 18 and nothing else. These are called Zero Knowledge Proofs.

But since the technology exists, the government isn't utilising it, and instead doing some moral panic "Think of the children!!!1" and setting up mass surveillance and data harvesting, I watch what they do, not what they say.

  • What type of evidence? Just like birth certificates and stuff? I immigrated here from Australia, but I have a great grandmother (she was a native and lived over 100. Died in like 1990) who was sold as a slave in the late 1800s. I'm not sure where she was from, it may not have been Canada, but instead the US. My brother looking to come here from Australia and is looking into this.
