  • I share little things I print out that amuse me but nothing of the actual text. Keeping that private is a mix of being self conscious and wanting to keep the depths of my weirdness to myself; I feel like I’d have to give context for things and I don’t have the energy for that.

  • I use a different app for the layout, but I count messing about with it as a separate hobby. I find it relaxing by itself so it’s become an important part of the process.

  • I probably get a little too invested in how my journal looks but for me that's part of the process. I create digital art journal pages so I can rearrange and resize things until I like the way they look.

  • I keep everything in chronological order and usually just put the review on a different coloured background. I like the idea that my opinion of a book is coloured by whatever else is going on in my life so keeping it in order makes sense and it means I can explain to myself why a re-read might hit different later.

I have a digital scrapbook for a journal though so things are easy to insert and re-sort compared to a paper notebook.

  • Excellent, it'll pair nicely with the ridiculous number of HAED patterns I'm hoarding.

  • Thanks for this! I'm a full coverage nut but didn't know about their freebies, guess I'll be adding it to my calendar as well 🙂

Trying out the cover page fad

  • I bust them every time I forget to thread one strand at a time - two just destroys them. Pinching at the narrow end helps but I ended up buying a pack of 100 and not worrying too much.

  • Don't apologise, I'm That Person in a whole host of subjects, lol. As good as that recipe looks (the photos are fantastic), I'd probably try it with chicken breast instead, only I don't know what agave syrup is or if I could find it in a kiwi supermarket.

  • I love this idea! And someone finally found a proper use for tofu 😉

  • These are so cute!

  • I think I've been to the movies once since covid and I have no plans to go back. The tickets are too expensive to be ruined by people being on their phones or talking to each other about what happens next. If there was the option to take your own headphones in to drown out the dickheads I'd probably go back.

Best and worst glue / tape

  • Beautiful work!

  • That looks like it would have been a fun stitch, congrats on the finish!

  • That looks great on black!

  • The thing about cross stitch is: it's only one stitch at a time. If you can do a little pattern you can definitely do a big one!

  • Congratulations that's a huge amount of progress!

  • I've seen people suggest that it's to do with your own body chemistry but I dont know if there's any science to back it up. At any rate, they recommended gold plated needles to help prevent the problem.

  • That sounds intriguing, I look forward to the photos 😉

  • Good luck with your challenge! I'd love to see a progress pic next time you have it off the snaps, it looks beautiful.

Also, 28ct? Do you use a magnifier or anything?
