  • I second mikrotik. I was an OpenWRT guy and still have some access points using OpenWRT but mikrotik routers are just so slick and easy to use and maintain. I would recommend also

  • I would recommend just hiding/removing your content on social media then let it go inactive. There may be some reason in the future you need to utilize the service (looking at you events that are only organized on facebook and restaurants that only post their hours on instagram)

  • I dont think deleting your account actually removes the content from their servers just removes the ability to find it for other users. I imagine companies like meta retain everything you put up and is free to train ai with it.

  • I dont have a multiple passports but i come from an English speaking country and live in a S. Korea. Here your name for almost anything needs to reflect your official government documents or else you are in for a whole world of inconvenience.

    . But here is the kicker apparently the government name system is case sensitive even if when docs are sent to me they appear all uppercase. It was through much trial and error that i discovered my middle name is not capitalized. This caused trouble opening bank accounts, importing things, getting a phone, etc

  • I dont knkw much about IPTV. Does it allow me to watch the game at a time of my choosing or is it only live streams? I live in a very different timezone than the USA and games typically stream at like 3am my time

  • Yep, here’s an example. Was out to dinner in South Korea with a group of people the day President Yoon (the guy who called martial law then rescinded in less than 24 hours) was impeached. I raised my glass and pronounced a toast to his impeachment. Turns out half the table was pro Yoon and pretty upset about it. Whoops

  • I used to keep a backed up base image to reflash a corrupted sd card. But after the 3rd or 4th time i knew i had to find a better solution.

  • I eventually moved to docker on the pi. But the pi would randomly go down. I had two of them for redundancy but eventually one of them ended up corrupting its sd card and shortly later the other went down unexpectedly while i was at work and the whole family lost connection without knowing how to fix it.

    Decided to move to to dns blocking on the router. Basically its easy to reboot for the family and has yet to fail (more than a year now).

  • I like it but just not on a Pi. I found it too unstable. I found it easier to host in a docker container.

    Although these days i just use blocklists on my router.
