  • Thanks, your reply made my day after all the negative comments. I'm a home hobbyist with zero training, so a lot of this stuff is jibberish to me still. Looks like we have a lot of the same stuff going on, I just needed a sanity check. Anyway, I went ahead and deployed it a few days ago and it seems to be very functional and snappy so I guess if it works it works?

  • You're right that Windows SHOULDN'T touch other OSes, but I've personally had windows update nuke my grub partition, like last year on an i5 11th gen laptop. Dual booting on the same drive? Don't do it!

  • Its not always clearly labeled tho. Last year my brother took me to a burger joint in Minneapolis and only after I thought the burger tasted very weird did I learn that it was an all vegan burger joint. Not complaining, but it should be clearly labeled what youre getting, IMO.

  • i've talked waaay to much shit to anybody who listen about windows to ever be seen using it again, i'm gonna have to install in the dead of night when everybody is sleeping, black ops type shit

  • linuxmemes @lemmy.world

    "Linux support"

  • I think you're looking for https://github.com/arabcoders/watchstate Watchstate will pull from Plex and migrate it into a Jellyfin instance. Emby is also supported. Works with multiple users as well, just do yourself a favor and make sure all usernames match up!!!

  • Devil's Advocate is free on Plex on demand, which is ad supported. Somehow you played that version and not your local one.

  • Finally got my brother to switch off windows, we're going Bazzite! Top tier distro!

  • It would have really sucked to write him out, they definitely were setting up something big for him in season 2 by leaving him on that planet alone curious to see what he finds!

  • I had this exact issue, Xbox controller needs a firmware update. Unfortunately the only way I know how to do that is via windows and the god awful Xbox app. Hope this helps!

  • ANOM was also covered in a recent episode of the podcast Darknet Diaries!

  • I'm not planning to set the bot up to notify dozens of users about their bans in a community they have never posted in and don't care about.

lol so your dumb bot bans randos, doesn't tell them, and you're too lazy to fix it and this guy is somehow avoiding bans he never even knew happened. this is straight ridiculous stop wasting people's times with this crap

  • I looked thru this blog hopeful that there would be protection against mod abuse. Instead you can get banned for downvoting? I don't want to be looking over my back because some dipshit mod had a bad take. This is generating way too much analytical data on users. Communities don't need empowered super mods treating users like numbers on a spreadsheet. Lemmy for sure has problems (ml) but this isn't the answer.

  • Nobody I'd trust more to open the Iris!

    1. There is no batch delete function. However, if you delete the channel and there are no users inside, the channel will be auto deleted from all records after a week or so. At least for Matrix.org channels.
  • I agree, the security key thing is a bit of an issue. However this might a bit of a user error as well. The thing to understand is that Encryption keys are not stored on Matrix.org. If they were, then Matrix.org (or whatever homeserver you're using) would be able to decrypt everything you can decrypt, thus making Matrix pretty useless. The solution is that keys are only stored locally on your devices. Keys are shared to other devices using the Verification process and Emoji matching thing. The problem is most users just go "Whatever!" And ignore the verification process and then have a bad experience because they don't have Encryption keys.

  • Lemmy Shitpost @lemmy.world

Watching ml and world argue in every thread be like.
