  • Oregon trail millennial here, my first computer didn't have a mouse let alone Windows 3.1

  • Tbf this is less stealing and more skewing it to be less democratic

    Potato, potato

  • This explains a lot of it: https://www.vote.org/save-act/

The reason Trump/repubs want it is because the main effect will be to reduce the number of left-wing voters so that they can steal the upcoming elections.

  • It always seemed like a bad idea to link everything to your Google account. Now I know people who won't leave Google purely for this reason. Glad you're working your way through it

  • All sports are boring to watch but fun to play, for me personally. Even though I understand and have experience with them.

  • +1 for njalla, they are privacy minded

  • Caddy makes it dead simple to do exactly what you described.

  • I have taken art classes. Maybe it is a factor in appreciating art in this way - do you do anything creative?

  • To each his own. I'd rather miss out on enjoying AI slop than miss out on feeling human connection to art.

  • A great painting isn't great because it looks great, its great because a human who thinks and feels like you do experienced and created it. Same for a song or a book or whatever. Reflecting and resonating with the creator's experience is fundamental to art. If you can't enjoy that level of art I feel sorry for you, because it's the most enjoyable part.

  • This is a bit like the chicken and the egg though. "You have to keep your content on reddit because there's no strong alternative" just ensures there will never be an alternative. If you really want an alternative you can't keep supporting the beast.

  • If we're talking about making sure people can still find the solution you found to some obscure tech problem, all that matters is that it's indexed and findable on a search engine, not how many comments it has

    1. We're on an alternative right now, if something is valuable you can repost it somewhere
    2. (opinion) It's better that someone can't find an answer than to have them find it on reddit and continuing to give value to its evil overlords.
  • Honestly I think it like great for what it is. I wouldn't actually play it or prefer it to normal Stardew, but functionally it's no worse than DOOM was.

  • I've switched back to cash for everything for privacy reasons.
