  • Yeah there used to be a different instance for all the porn and such, but the admin couldn't keep up with it. So the FediNSFW was created only a few months ago if my memory serves correctly. It HAS become much more active in those few months, so hopefully that growth continues!

    There's a fun questions/truth or dare community that has sorta the same feel as well, though I can't remember the exact name of that community.

    I'm unsure about this user thus far. They're new around here which doesn't necessarily mean much, but you never know.

  • Volunteering is a good place to start. Most places have community centers and food pantries and such that are always looking for volunteers. This puts you directly in line for helping your community members.

    Introduce yourself to your neighbors. Do the neighborly things like bring their bins in for them, check in with them when there's a storm, etc. Learn their names. Strike up conversation when you see them outside.

    Join local sports or running club or something similar. Getting yourself physically in places with others and being open to befriending people is the quickest way to immerse yourself in community building.

  • But right now I am considering to put cooking from chores to hobby category in my mind.

    That's a great way to reframe cooking! When I'm feeling bored of it or am dreading cooking, sometimes picking out a new recipe helps me get excited about it again.

  • Be really strict with moderation. That kind of age-play group is ripe for predators, so you'll want to be sure to protect the younger users to an extent. You also don't want minors sneaking into the group and causing a lot of legal issues as well.

    So yeah. Strict moderation is my advice.

  • I do my future self favors!

    Oftentimes I may want to listen to a podcast or whatever, but don't have anything specific to do with my hands. So I tend to tackle tasks that don't get done daily - cleaning the microwave, folding and putting away the clean laundry, vacuuming, making my bed, weeding the garden, etc.

    There's always something that needs doing around the house. And it's very calming and enjoyable to be able to come home to everything in it's place and no weird smells from the kitchen haha

    It's a little dismissive to assert that men are sexualized at the same levels as women in the Olympics with these camera angles.

    There are many reasons why the guidelines are targeted toward coverage of women athletes and it's not misandry.

    They are allowed to wear less skimpy clothing. Most athletes choose what they wear now.

    The Norwegian volleyball team did stage a protest in 2021:

    The Norwegian women's beach handball team is in a battle with the sport's governing bodies to wear less-revealing uniforms. After the team's repeated complaints about the required bikini bottoms were reportedly ignored, they wore shorts during a recent game in protest and were fined 150 euros (around $175) per player.

    Also yeah, men do get sexualized, but this is such a problem with the camera angles on women in the Olympics that this needed to be outlined.
