My Windows 10 setup was extremely optimized and my favorite OS.I use Linux for my daily driver now, but every so often I have to dig out my (air gapped) Windows 10 laptop to do something and it’s just… nice.
One of my coworkers is a proud advocate of LLMs. What I’ve noticed is she’s become more scatterbrained and less confident when put on the spot.
100% of my workplace (where I spend the majority of my waking time) is heavily affected by this.Maybe by population the vast majority of people aren’t affected; it’s a bit different ratio when looking at where the wealth is being focused.It has the potential to fuck up everything, which is why there is so much alarm.
This is the guy that breaks into your home, steals your stuff, shoots your dog, then sues you because he twisted his ankle climbing out the window.
“Popular media” shouldn’t determine how you want to live.However, you should objectively look at what it would take to achieve your goals. And reassess at regular intervals.
“fossil fuel economy is finished” is such a polarizing oversimplification. It will still have its uses for a long time.Instead of dramatic statements, can we have more positive perspectives like “grid batteries really work, here’s some proof”
