I'm neither religious nor spiritual myself and I'm not trying to defend any religion.
My point is that treating religious people as an outgroup is deeply problematic as you're denying one of the basic behavioral patterns in humanity and in yourself.
You are the problem of the US. Not the maga, not scientologists, not even evangelical christians. These groups are just trying to seize power through people like you. People who are on the edge to hate.
No, it was a decision motivated by events happening with me and in the world. I felt like I could easily start coping with the help of alcohol.
Also, the struggle to find a new mode of interaction is real. Every non-alcohol first interaction with people I used to drink with is hella awkward, even if we both want to be a bit closer.
