Would have been better to post in an out of the loop community, because it definitely reads like shit-stirring. Especially "neo-nazi" admins of dbzer0. Like holy shit that's so far off the mark I have trouble taking it in good faith.

Anyway, I don't have context about the world admin being a zionist or not. But this comment lays out the rest of the events pretty clearly.

In short: an anarchist.nexus (piefed sister site to dbzer0 being on lemmy) admin set their display name to something intentionally shit stirring like "death to all zionists". A lemmy.world admin took it personally for some reason, and instead of reaching out to other admins on anarchist.nexus or dbzer0, reporting it, publicly announcing what was going on, or even running it by the other lemmy.world admins first, they just decided on their own to defederate from anarchist.nexus entirely.

As soon as dbzer0/anarchist.nexus admins learned what was going on, the admin with the shit stirring display name stepped down. Lemmy.world has refederated with anarchist.nexus, but the admin that took it personally is still holding onto the threat of defederating from them again.

dbzer0 is currently gathering allies from smaller lemmy and piefed instances to agree to collectively defed from lemmy.world if they follow through on defederating anarchist.nexus again, because this should have been something discussed, not done in the dark at the whim of a single person.

  • There's a little bit of the "screechy tsundere" voice here and there going on that was pretty common at the time, but a lot less than most shows of the era. Beyond that, the dub is great, imo.

  • High powered lasers that can burn a hole in the sensor aren't too hard to get ahold of. A sticker slapped over one could probably work just as well though, and there's more plausible deniability.

  • You need to get your eyes checked. The title of the post itself is "All men are dangerous".

This is some incredibly obvious rage bait of a post, meant to get people arguing past each other because some people will assume the sort of good faith discussion in the image, others won't accept ot anyway, and some will be explicitly calling out the bullshit title while others defend the argument in the image, shouting past each other about different things.

  • When I had the displeasure of meeting a skinhead in my younger teens, he tried to teach me that all black people needed to be treated as horrible lawless thugs with minds equivalent to neanderthals, until they actively proved they "were one of the ok ones".

Your analogies are good, but the jab at the end is questionable.

  • Part of it is that there's aqlways low quality and high quality content being made, but time acts as a filter. The stuff you'll still be able to find to watch from the past is more likely to be the higher quality things from that previous era.

I personally think there is still a slight difference in quality as well, but it's easy to forget all the shit TV that doesn't make it into history books or to any online services.

  • Honestly looks too low to be a beard. Most beards start closer to the mouth.

  • Unfortunately there's quite a few areas in the world where people seem to have forgotten the art of basic small talk, and they assume that you're engaging with them because you want to get something out of them.

  • It was pretty much the only way to find stuff online before search sites started indexing everything. You either knew the site directly or you followed links from other sites to get there.

  • Hey, the comments link isn't actually a link, whoever is running this bot.

  • Next time, just ask the damn question!!

Uh... um.... I really hadn't planned for it to go this way. I had this whole romantic evening planned out and...

Ok. Ok. I can do this.

  • Loved it. Definitely up there with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Second Gig for me.

  • First season is peak. The few episodes I watched of... I think it was called 1.5, where they combined each two episodes of the first season into a streamlined 45 minute episode with some scenes extended, was also good. Wish they would have released a "extended/full cut" of the first season without the streamlining and with the new extended scenes added. Second season is Ok. Haven't watched the third season yet. Or the movies.

  • Exactly. I'm not helpdesk anymore, thank god, but my team still has a ton of day to day work that's tracked in the ticketing system.

Well, for years I've been stuck in project hell, doing work that isn't easily fit into the ticket system. My last review my boss said I had only closed about 1/3 of the tickets of the next lowest person on my team, and that it doesn't matter except we have a new exec watching that shit, so I have to make it look better.

So the next project I got, I chose to do something manually that I could have automated, that required the help desk to open tickets direct to me about 2-4 times a day whenever someone new needed access to the system I was setting up, until the project was done.

A week in I automated the "manual" task anyway and had a bunch of tickets I could close with a copy-pasted resolution.

I would feel bad, but my co-workers game the metrics even worse than I do.
