  • I'm sure the usual suspects will claim it's once again baseless Western imperialist propaganda.

But it's not the first time I've heard of this. Last week's news of malnutried Ukrainian soldiers was a big scandal. For Russian soldiers it was yet another Tuesday. And I can actually understand utter desperation when you're starving. What I cannot understand why they're not eating their commanders instead and then go home.

  • Red Hat has been all over AI for a while

Hosting LLMs is different from pushing AI crap down end users' throats Copilot style.

  • At least Firefox recently got a 1-click "AI off" button. I'd prefer if Mozilla concentrated on the rendering engine first and foremost but that 1-click solution isn't so bad. So at least there's that.

  • Just use the best option for you.

Problem is when people don't use what option is best for them and make everything worse for the people who are then asked to help them (or even worse are completely unrelated and have to bear the burden anyway). There are fundamental problems how Canonical distributes security fixes (many locked behind Ubuntu Pro which is free for personal use but still requires signing up for it) and these problems are inherited by Ubuntu remixes like Mint and popOS.

  • I think most of it can be seen as a proof on concept. A statement by zsKnight is read in the YT video where he says that he wants to work on Super ZSNES full time via funding through Patreon.

Given the nature as a proprietary application written using Unity, I wouldn't be surprised if Super ZSNES will be sold on Steam in the future, similar to 3dSen. It's not like a Unity app can ever be fully FOSS because Unity itself is not FOSS.

  • Can we really trust mozilla to be in charge of adblocking? It’s not like users have any power over firefox’s source code if mozilla decides that google ads are okay, for instance.

Just add custom filter lists. Never understood the outcry back when people used AdGuard and an optional whitelist was on by default.

If you can install a 3rd party web browser, you can change filter rules as well.

  • I don't know that person but Macron has a tendency to say the right things to then not follow up, though. Relatively early after the 2022 invasion he said that blowing up dams would be seen as using weapons of mass destruction and then Russia blew up that large dam (name escapes me) and yet France did not even launch a single interceptor on behalf of Ukraine, let alone establish a no fly zone over eastern and souther Ukraine. But Iranian drones in Asia? Sure, France happily intercepts them https://www.politico.eu/article/france-intercepted-iranian-drones-at-jordans-request-emmanuel-macron/

  • EU‘s nuclear power and even they chicken out of establishing a no fly zone over Crimea and Donbas.

  • So… If Russia says this, that means they are or are about to start using this, right?

Their main weapons supplier has their hands full currently and stuff from China is Russia ordering off Alibaba/AliExpress, so depends if graphite fibers are available there (and when they are Ukraine gets them as well).

Russia Claims Ukraine Using Graphite Weapons - Here's Why

  • Der will doch nur selber auf einem goldenen Thron sitzen und auf Untergebene unterdrücken.

  • Why couldn’t they make it affordable at around 50 bucks?

Because it makes economic sense to get higher profit margins for peripherals to offset the memory costs for Deck, Frame, and Machine. Gabe's comment regarding 64GB Deck's price gave me the impression they rather go that route.

There are good and affordable 8bitdo controllers available anyway, so there are alternatives.
