  • Apparently 100g of espresso contains 212mg, 30g (or one fluid ounce) has 63mg. I think that ties in with what I can remember from James Hoffmanns channel for the average espresso size. So at least double what’s shown on the chart.

  • Will it help some of them to remember the Highway Code?

  • *nitpickers ;)

  • Sounds like a bit of a cliché to me.

  • Showing up late turned out to be a bit of a habit, eh?

  • Can you blow Neelix out of an airlock?

  • Might be something to do with the round thing the guy has his hand on.

  • Mildly interesting fact of the hour: one of my relatives was working at the front of the successor to this airship when it crashed in France (the cunningly named R-101).

He only ended up working on it because he once missed his train to a previous job, on the RMS Titanic.

  • If anything around here is to go by, rich Londoners are very happy to buy second homes near the lakes and the sea….

Build some new builds on fancy stilts and with some clever marketing you could be quids in. You could charge them extra for mooring boats.

On a more serious note though, that’s bloody frightening.

  • Do you know what on par means? Average.

No it doesn’t. It means to be on the same level as something else.

  • Is that the usual American response when they see food that isn’t ultra-processed?

    Edit: apparently I meant ultra-processed.

  • Some people are going to be really pissed off at this once they finally haul their lazy arses out of bed.

  • I really wanted to defend my home country and point out this was factually incorrect as it only happened once in one city as a result of overflowing sewers.

However, I remembered about an article I read recently that mentioned a slum clearance (quite usual in England in the early to mid 20th century) in St Ives, Cornwall in the 1930s, where effluent was still being emptied into a stream running through the slum.

It was still being allowed less than one hundred years ago.
