Infrastructure nerd, gamer, and Lemmy.ca maintainer

  • Worst part of running a fediverse site IMHO. We just want to build a space where people can come and share memes / discuss ideas in an intelligent + reasonable fashion, without being personally attacked.

  • Removing all the communities wasn't intentional, we've restored https://lemmy.ca/c/world@quokk.au so far and will go through the rest.

Edit: I've restored all of these -

  • I was asked to share this here as the user cannot themselves.

    Thanks.

We're still reviewing Deceptichum's ban internally and will follow up in the next day or so once we've had a chance to dig / discuss more.

  • I'm quite happy with Thunder

  • End of the weekend at the latest.

  • We're not in cahoots with anyone on this, we're just busy. Please keep in mind we're all donating our time and just because we're browsing and commenting, doesn't mean we have the time / energy to sit down at our PC to dig through mod logs & user history to look into things right away. I personally do most of my lemmy surfing on mobile, not well suited to digging into mod logs.

We'll get back to that message, just give us time. We all have busy lives outside of lemmy too.

  • Pricing is different per region, and they don't want you shipping for apps from a cheaper region.

  • Wow you're just the dog whisperer, you know everything about every dog and every persons situation.

At this point I'm pretty sure you're just trolling and enjoying this.

  • Unless my dog has magically learned to open doors or use an elevator to get down 5 floors, no there aren't. He also has absolutely no desire to leave or explore without me.

I'm guessing you have a small dog? Maybe one with a lot of wanderlust?

My 80 pounds of fluff isn't sneaking anywhere.

  • You could just train your dog to not run away from home, I'd call that the most basic thing you can do as a responsible pet owner.

Also not everyone lives in a house. If my dog "slips out", hes got nowhere to go except an apartment hallway. That's well worth not having matted fur around his neck.

  • The science behind this one confuses me. Bluetooth is short range, and gps is too low power to penetrate. There's no way a gps will get lock from inside a ship, and someone would need a compatible app and internet to relay it out.

The issue isn't the tracker, it's the person with their personal phone and the app that relayed the position of the tracker while they were in cell range of the shore.

  • Maybe try it on game mode? I have a c3 too but haven't updated in years since I rooted it.

  • The cruise missiles flew for about 7,869 to 7,920 seconds and the anti-warship missiles for about 1,960 to 1,973 seconds

If only we had some more easily understood units for tracking time.

  • Not as good as being with someone whom you have a close emotional bond with, but way better than masturbating.

  • Go voltuneer at a shelter and walk dogs for them first. I don't think you've considered how much work is involved in a dog, are you prepared to adopt a small child?

  • If no referrer header is sent, CF will let it through. You can copy + paste the url into a new tab to get to it, but I'm guessing some apps don't provide a referrer.

  • Hmmm, I've been working on some caching changes with Rimu but I've also enabled our second webserver again. I've turned off both again for now, is that better?
