An invincible wolf man, who is like a wolf in every regard save for the fact that he can fly.

(Note: This might be misinformation)

  • When Beyond Beef switched from v2 to the v3 (w/ avocado oil), my wife and I tried it and were like, "THERE IT IS! They finally fucked up a good thing, as predicted.."

But after eating v3 for several months and lucking my way back into a box of v2 at Costco, I can firmly say that v2 was kind of shit.

You just have to season your Beyond Burgers now, is all. You didn't have to before. At least we never did.

  • Imbeciles have bought their way into the presidency, and bottom-tier comedians have bought themselves into gatekeepers of comedy. Next they're going to tell me absolute fucking morons have bought their way into the top of Big Tech..

  • I can't think of many examples so my comment is worthless, but for years I had this experience with Rotten Tomatoes and hated the site/community for it. Some of the most artistic and impactful films I had seen would get a 30% or something, and I'd be like how?!

I guess one more recent example that I do have was The Northman while it was still playing in theatres. It scored well enough on Rotten Tomatoes over time, but initial reviews were trash and I was hard-pressed to find a single person online who enjoyed it. Just endless shitting all over it. Comments sections full of folks calling it the worst/dumbest thing they've ever wasted their money on.

My wife and I went into it blind and were honestly blown away. It was like John Wick with Norse mythology. From the very beginning where Willem Dafoe is howling and going into a crazy shamanistic fire trance to the big otherworldly climax at the end, we were floored by how fucking cool that movie was. A genuine piece of art. Got us both playing Valheim again soon after.

Not sure what changed, but despite the 90% Tomatometer, the 64% Popcornmeter still shows that audiences were fairly divided. But that spread was way worse a few years ago. The part that perplexed me most is that most people's criticisms of the movie could just as easily be applied to Mad Max: Fury Road (which I ironically thought was hot garbage).

  • My daughter and I have been listening to Jesse Welles' (Under the Power Lines versions) of Autumn and Anything But Me quite a lot. Certain is also fire, but a little too political for my 6-year-old to grasp.

  • I read that as "fucked them in the balls with no lube" and I really liked the way it sounded.

  • Newgrange is essentially my holy place, and I hope to see it one day. Mythology or not, to stand where the Tuatha De Danaan are said to have inhabited and are now laid to rest would be otherworldly.

They're not my current brand of spirituality, but they set me on the path long ago.

  • Freeman's Mind is such a comfort to return to every now and then. Ross has one of those Homer Simpson voices that make me feel warm and at peace just listening to.

  • Fuck yeah.. I remember that guy from Operation Body Count (1994 / MS-DOS).. He was tough to take down, and melted into a Thanksgiving turkey when you finally managed. I only had the demo that let me play one level, but I played it a lot..

  • (me calling out from the other room)

    "Honey! You shouldn't have!"

  • Years ago I marathoned seasons 1 through 13 while enduring benzo withdrawals. I can absolutely confirm that these ratings are accurate.

  • This was my experience with poutine before and after visiting Canada. No one truly gets it until they've had it. The real stuff. Not shredded mozzarella over fries.

White cheddar cheese curds/squeakers over fries with piping hot brown gravy poured directly over.

Now I live in Canada and eat it all the time.

  • (a spherical teaspoon of white glurp floats past)

    "Wot? Wadn't me."

John, you're the only man on board..

"Don't know wot to tell ya, mate. Said it wadn't me.."

  • "Helped me cum"

  • Same. Went to a casino once, pulled a slot machine and won $30. Then lost $30. Never returned to one.

I do enjoy being gifted scratch-off tickets, though, but I won't spend my own money on them (unless as gifts to others). I manage at a grocery store and I'm often surrounded by people who aren't particularly wise with money. Every time there's a big lottery drawing coming up I get to hear from everyone how "THE JACKPOT IS UP TO 30-MILLION NOW! YOU BETTER GET A TICKET! YA CAN'T WIN IF YA DON'T PLAY!"

Yeah, and I don't burn money if I don't play, either..

  • Space deniers are the bottom of the fucking barrel as far as I'm concerned. I don't know what it is about them, or how they got so fucking stupid, but there appears to be no limit to their ignorance.

  • sad Swedish Chef noises

  • I've lived in my house longer than all the women in Africa.

  • '90s are back in Canada for sure, at least among teenagers. I haven't lived in the US since 2016, but it can't be much different. Grunge and Korn shirts galore. I kind of love it. Makes me feel like a wisened old sage who nods knowingly at the new generation picking up the pieces of their ancestors. Just waiting for them to discover Bush.
