As if flash games weren't 75% dressup games, tower defense, and shit platformers. We still got plenty of that slop don't worry, we just have other kinds of slop to go with it.
Didn't we already find out Linus is a scumbag to work for like, 2-3 years ago? Why do we still spread around his content? He's a talentless hack that got lucky being one of the early tech personalities on youtube through NCIX
Only 10% of the US is in a union. Who's going to lead it?
The biggest of those unions I'd guess would be AFL-CIO, which I suppose did a okay job leading the Minnesota strike
Roughly one in four Minnesota voters either participated in the January 23 day of shutdown and protest against ICE, or have a loved one who did...Of those participants, 38% percent stayed off the job, either because they did not go to work, or because their employer closed for the day of action... 45% of voters “generally support the call for no work, no school, no shopping as a form of protest.” https://inthesetimes.com/article/labor-general-strike-minnesotans-ice-protest-trump-cbp
Keep in mind those numbers are voters in minnesota, not super great for a bunch of "progressive" people.
Even the national strike on the 30th wasn't terrible, but neither had any economic effect. There just isn't enough organization, especially in key industries. People aren't educated on unions, even in communist circles a ton of us are running around without a clue what good union organizing looks like.
I think throwing up a slop chart like this is incredibly lazy for a company to post. They almost always get something wrong or invent stuff.
If you are having a conversation with someone about a topic and need something kinda quick, and sorta accurate to help explain something in a pinch, slopcharts aren't useless. I've generated a couple based on niche manuals/handbooks. Probably better tools for the job, just the thing I happened to reach for.
I like the reliable mom van example. You can paint the rims all nice, put some stickers on it, hang up your fuzzy dice. But it's still getting the kids home from soccer practice.
Yep. And those rules of etiquette are, no means no, no touching without asking, and if someone tells you to knock it off you stop the behavior immediately & permanently.
No but you don't understand, suddenly now that the media is telling me how bad ICE is, I care about this. When a blue president is in office the media doesn't talk about it, so I just assume everything is okay again.
We aren't anywhere near the idea of perfect revolution, people are still caught up with perfect action planning, perfect rallys, perfect protests, perfect meetings! So many people over think the most basic stuff, it comes from a good place, but it usually leads to impotence.
"Golly gee, our org is so terribly white, that means we can never organize around or make a statement regarding black issues. What if we get something wrong and someone calls us out?" and then the group proceeds to do nothing
That's the type of shit I hear damn near every single time I'm in an irl organizing space. That's where the "radical left" is in my area. I know you all have dealt with it too.
You gotta use the information and experience you have to the best of your abilities and move forward. Doing something imperfect will get you far more community respect than doing nothing.
Even if all this was true (I don't agree but besides the point), Israeli bombs still blow up women and lgbt people. Getting blown up and colonized is hardly progress.
Please explain how this in anyway could even remotely be mocking dependency?
